This super ripple scarf pattern perfectly matches the ripple hat on the picture. What a wonderful set for a Christmas gift. Worked in worsted weight yarn you’ll need 6oz. The ripple scarf pattern finished length is 68 inches including the fringe at both ends, the width is 7 inches. 1 more time” per each extra 10 sts, ie. 19 more times for 213 ch, rep 20 more times for 223 ch, etc. If you read through the pattern you’ll see what I mean.

You will need to know chain, single crochet and double crochet, and slip stitch. 2tog – yo, pull hook through all remaining loops now. 18 more times, ch1, sk1, dc in next st, ch1, sk1, 3dc in next st, ch1, sk1, dc in next st, ch1, sk1, dc2tog over next 2 sts, turn. 18 more times, 3dc in next st, dc in next 4sts, dc2tog over next 2 sts, turn. Rows 2 and 3 form the pattern. Repeat rows 2 and 3, 4 more times for a total of 11 rows worked. Do not break yarn – continue as follows.

30, join with sl st to end of scarf row 11, ch30, join with sl st to the point where rows 5 and 6 join, ch30, join with sl st to where rows 10 and 11 join. Continue in same manner alternating joining ch30 draping loops to the end of each row and at the point where each row joins the next, for a total of 17 loops, ending at the starting corner of row 1. Sc along foundation ch, working 2sc in center st of each 3dc group, repeat fringe instructions as per previous row across short end of scarf, then sc along last long edge, sl st to first st of fringe, break yarn, finish off ends. And there you have your ripple scarf pattern – simple.

Try a single color like this one or maybe try a contrast paneldown the center – change the middle 5 rows to another shade of the same color family or go for something brighter. As an alternate fringe – try ch30, sl st into next space all the way across the end of the scarf. That would give a more traditional look rather than the draping you see on this ripple scarf pattern. The choice is yours – use your imagination as I did mine to create this pattern.
